A Word From Nerissa
Dear Nields fans and friends,
Katryna and I just finished a wonderful weekend of recording with our father, John Nields, up at Dave Chalfant's studio, Sackamusic. To say we had fun would be the understatement of the year. We sang a variety of the songs he had taught us when we were little girls; songs like "Oh, Mary Don't You Weep," "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "The Irish Rover," "The Fox" and a lot of others. Some of what we recorded will show up on the long promised childrenšs record we have been threatening to make for several years now. We are hoping to have that ready by Falcon Ridge, 2006!
Also ready by 2006, if all goes well, will be the newest member of the Nields family. It's with more joy that I can possibly express that I officially announce: Tom and I are having a baby somewhere about the end of May or beginning of June. And though I am already at the mercy of the three and a half inch benevolent despot in my womb, I am looking forward to this new chapter with joy and excitement, while getting as much sleep as I possibly can in the meantime. And besides cracking open my heart to greater stores of love than I have previously known, I am counting on the little one to play the accordion. Don't you think our band could use that?
