A Word From Nerissa & Katryna
Hello all!
I think spring might really be upon us this time... I hate to jinx
anything, but I heard a rumour that it is going to be 60º this Friday and
this Friday we are playing the Acoustic Cafe in Bridgeport, CT. I am sure
that those of you who are already done with your crocuses and are on to your
daffodils are laughing at us northerners. In order to fully appreciate the
significance of our weather patterns, you must know that it has snowed or
sleeted for the last 14 times that we have attempted to play the fabulous
Acoustic Cafe. Last night when Nerissa and I had the pleasure of
performing at the Border's in Fairfield CT, a nice man came up to us and
said, "I'd tell you that I'll see you on Friday, but I can't be sure that
there won't be an ice storm." So perhaps now you can understand our delight
at the forecast for Friday night. It might not be a sunny, shorts-worthy,
sandal-friendly Tampa evening, but it probably won't sleet.
On Saturday we will descend upon the famed Stone Soup coffeehouse in
Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Ever since we played there last year, we have
been begging our booking agent to send us back. It is in a new venue this
time and we are most excited to check out the new digs.
On Tuesday morning we will drop into the most folkadelic of all radio
stations... WUMB in Boston. Those Bostonians are really really lucky.
Not every burg gets as cool a radio station as this one. Why, you ask, are
we driving all the way to Boston to appear on the radio at the proverbial
crack of dawn? Well.... first of all we are spreading the word about our
Homegrown Coffeehouse appearance on April 3. The Homegrown is in Needham
MA. We absolutely love it. This is a chance for you Boston area folk to
hear this record all stripped down to its essentials. Nerissa and Katryna
and the songs. Come. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll eat yummy
muffins and drink hot tea. Second of all, our sister, Abigail is relegated to
her couch for the next five weeks. She is expecting twins and she has been
ordered to lie on her side. So we have serious amounts of entertaining to
do.
